The Federal University of Technology, Minna hereby announces the details of the 2010/2011 Post-UTME Screening Exercise for both UTME (100 level) and Direct Entry candidates which will hold from
Thursday 5th – Saturday 7th August, 2010.
1. Eligibility
i.) Only candidates who selected the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna as their first choice University are eligible for this screening exercise.
ii.) Candidates, who selected FUT, Minna as their second choice option should, however, look out for advertisement for their screening at the University’s website (www.futminna.edu.ng) or listen to FUT, Minna Campus Radio (Search FM 92.3) as from 7th August, 2010.
ii.) Candidates expected to register for this screening exercise are those who scored NOT LESS than the indicated minimum for various Schools/Departments/Programmes in the April, 2010 UTME as shown below:

iv.) All candidates must have the prescribed subject combinations in the UTME required for admission into the proposed departments/programmes as prescribed in the JAMB brochure.
v.) Direct Entry candidates must possess an Ordinary National Diploma or Higher National Diploma (Lower Credit minimum) or National Certificate of Education (Merit minimum) from Federal Government approved Polytechnics/Monotechnics/Colleges of Education. Candidates with GCE ‘A/Level’ or IJMB ‘A/Level’ must possess minimum of two subjects at credit passes or five points respectively.
vi.) All candidates must possess a minimum of five O/Level credits in WASCE/ NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings in subjects relevant to their proposed courses obtained not earlier than 2006. For list of relevant subjects required by departments/programmes click here: ……….
2. Method of Application
i.) All candidates must either possess a valid e-mail address or create one for the purpose of the online registration for the screening exercise.
ii.) Candidates should go to any of the following designated banks (First Bank, UBA, Union Bank, Oceanic Bank, Bank PHB, Intercontinental Bank, Guarantee Trust Bank, Zenith Bank) and ask to pay for “FUTMINNA POST – UTME ACCOUNT” through e-Tranzact platform at the cost of N1,000.00 only excluding bank charges.
iii.) The candidate collects a receipt which contains the receipt number and a pin number/Confirmation Order No.
iv.) The candidate logs into the University portal: www.futminna.edu.ng
v.) A set of instruction is displayed to the candidate in registering, payment and scheduling for the screening exercise
vi.) Candidate submits his/her entries and prints out the registration slip containing date and time schedule for the screening.
Note: Candidates are strongly advised to commence registration immediately as the University portal will be closed for registration from midnight of 2nd August, 2010.
3. Requirements for the Screening Exercise
All eligible candidates are required to come to the screening venue at the University’s Main Campus at Gidan Kwano along Minna-Bida road with:
i.) The JAMB – UTME (2010/2011) result slip or evidence of JAMB registration by Direct Entry candidates.
ii.) The printed Post-UTME registration paper.
iii.) Photocopies of all academic credentials : O/Level, A/Level, NCE, OND and HND (except UTME candidates awaiting O/Level result).
4. General Information
i.) No candidate will be allowed to participate in the screening exercise without complying with the above requirements.
ii.) The Main Campus at Gidan Kwano along Minna-Bida road is about 20 kms away from the Bosso Campus of the University which is inside Minna town. Candidates without personal vehicles may board commercial buses at the rate of N50 at the Bus Park inside the Bosso Campus of the University.
iii.) Candidates are not allowed to bring GSM handsets or similar electronic gadgets into the screening hall. Such item(s) will be seized and will not be returned to the owners.
iv.) Impersonation is a serious offence and anyone caught impersonating will be handed over to the law enforcement agents.
v.) Any registered candidate who fails to report for the screening exercise on the date specified on the print-out automatically loses his or her chance of being considered for admission.
vi.) The screening exercise shall be computer based.
vii.) Candidates are advised to arrive at the convocation square at the Main Campus, Gidan Kwano as early as 8.00 a.m on their stipulated/expected date of the screening exercise.
viii.) Biometric data of the candidates shall be captured before the commencement of the screening exercise.
ix.) Candidates will then move to the University Auditorium for demonstration of computer based screening procedure.
x.) Thereafter, candidates will be ushered into the computer room for the screening exercise.

6. Procedure for Registration
To enable a successful completion of the registration process, a UTME candidate must:
i.) have selected FUT, Minna as his/her 1st choice University.
ii.) have attained the minimum UTME score for his/her chosen department/programme as indicated above in the table under the heading “Eligibility”.
iii.) have obtained a payment receipt with a Confirmation order number from any of the designated banks listed above.
7. Online Registration Steps:
i.) Click on the link below to begin the registration process.
ii.) Enter UTME JAMB Registration number in the space provided and click “Submit”
iii.) A display ‘Welcome message with candidate’s names appears on the screen.
iv.) Click on the position ‘to continue’ AND candidate will be transferred immediately to the portal of the Electronic Test Company (ETC) to continue the registration process
v.) Click on the tab: “BEGIN SCHEDULING”
vi.) In the window ‘New Applicant? Creat Acount’ fill in a valid e-mail address and password, and other details as required.
vii.) If the Account is created successfully, enter valid e-mail address and password under the window ‘Returning Applicant? Sign in’
viii.) Click on “Sign in”
A window appears directing candidate to ‘select an Institution’
ix.) Click on the drop down to select “FED.UNIVERSITY OF TECH. MINNA”
x.) Next, Click on the drop down to “Select test”
xi.) Select: FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY MINNA ADMISSION SCREENING-2010
xii.) Click on “Start Application”
xiii.) Fill in the Application Form (Personal biodata, previous Institutions attended and grades obtained in relevant examinations)
NOTE: Direct Entry candidates should input 100 as JAMB SCORE
xiv.) After the completion of Application Form, click on the button “Next Step”
The online payment page will appear
xv.) Enter your “Confirmation Order No.” and “Receipt number” in the space provided.
xvi.) Click on: ‘MAKE PAYMENT’
A number pad appears on the screen
xvii.) Key in the amount paid in the Bank
After activation the Scheduling Page appears on the screen
xviii.) Select your Scheduling day and Time
xix.) Print out the slip after completion of the process.
