Brunel Energy Tunisia: Controls & Instrument Engineer

Brunel Energy provides specialist personnel to the international oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation and construction industries. Our clients are predominantly major operating companies and international engineering or construction companies.we are currently recruiting for the position of Controls & Instrument Engineer


Our client is the largest producer of gas in Tunisia with the Miskar field supplying around 40% of the gas sourced for the domestic market. Gas from here is processed at the Hannibal plant, 21 kilometres south of Sfax, and sold into the Tunisian gas system.

Job description

The position reports to the Leads C&I Engineer.

The purpose of this position is to:

Successfully carry out and achieve all allocated Control and Instrumentation Engineering Investigation Requests (EIRs) and Brownfield Engineering Change modifications (ECMs) in all BG Tunisia asset facilities as per our client’s Management of Change Process.

Have Provision of technical engineering expertise, know how and support to different disciplines and projects in Tunisia asset.

Ensure that all relevant industry, international and legislative requirements with regard to Control and Instrumentation systems are fully adhered to.

Job requirements

Experienced Chartered C&I engineer, with a good track record of O&G experience within world-class O&G companies
• A sound technical background and knowledge of DCS and SCADA systems
• A Proven design capabilities and extensive experience with F&G detection systems, Gas Analysers (GC, H2S, Hg, H2O, water-cut meters), Safety Systems, Turbines Control System, metering skids, functional safety, alarm management and instrumentation (selection/specification/implementation) .

Good Knowledge and understanding of Oil & Gas industry standards, equipment design/installation/commissioning/maintenance codes and best practices, safety legislation and legal requirements.

Good understanding of the industry financial work flow and procedures specifically for offshore Oil&Gas operational assets.

Knowledge of Tunisian legislation relating to Electrical, Control and Instrumentation safety

Use of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and Access (or similar database) to good level
