SPIE Oil & Gas Services warns candidates against the dissemination on Internet of fake job offers for contracts abroad under the name of SPIE Oil & Gas Services and its subsidiaries.

Recently, proposals for employment made by false organizations claiming to work for SPIE Oil & Gas Services, or by individuals claiming to work or be affiliated with SPIE Oil & Gas Services, have been reported. The authors of these offers fraudulently use the names, brand and logos of SPIE and SPIE Oil & Gas Services and make propositions notifying the applicant that their qualifications are suitable for the position as an employee (local or expatriate) for SPIE Oil & Gas Services and request the transfer of a sum of money to pay for work permits and insurance policies, etc. Please note that neither SPIE nor SPIE Oil & Gas Services (as part of their recruitment process) will ever ask candidates to provide their banking data or to pay any fees whatsoever at any point in the recruitment process.

Reservoir Simulation Consultant (1 Position)

Job Location: Bangkok, Thailand (Contract 1 Year)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
Expatriate only
Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum or Reservoir). A Master’s degree in Reservoir Engineering is a definite advantage.
Experience : 15-25 Years of reservoir engineering experience in the oil and gas industry with at least 10 years in reservoir simulation. Experience in modelling oil and gas reservoirs, preferably with Petrel RE and Eclipse E100/300. Experience working in different countries is preferred, especially Asia-Pacific. Achieved QRE status; Reserves auditor level of experience is an added advantage.
Skills : Applies functional skills in own area and other areas to solve business problems; sets technical/business objectives with manager
Software: Eclipse E100/300, Petrel-RE, Rubis, MBAL, PVTP, Prosper, GAP, OFM, Saphir; Knowledge of Reservoir Engineering software and techniques to an advanced level
Mentor and aid in the development of less experienced engineering staff; capable of probabilistic analysis methods.; Ability to design and optimize reservoir fluid sampling, fluid property modelling, routine and special core analysis; Capable of specialized simulation techniques (matrix solution methods, numerical analysis, vectorization, finite element/difference analysis and parallel modelling). Advanced Excel skills are a distinct advantage.
