Christian Aid Vacancy for International Advocacy Adviser

Christian Aid has a vision: a world free from poverty. To do that we are committed to exposing the scandal of poverty, helping in practical ways to root it out from the world, and to challenging and changing the systems that favour the rich and powerful over the poor and marginalised. As an international development NGO, Christian Aid has been actively campaigning internationally, regionally and nationally on the root causes of global poverty, including key issues of our time such as climate change, economic justice, displaced people, gender and inequality.

About the role

As part of the Global Advocacy team in the Policy and Public Affairs Department, this role will support the shared development and implementation of advocacy strategies across key countries where Christian Aid has a presence, or regional and international processes we seek to influence. Supporting the International Advocacy Manager, the post holder will have a key role in implementing international advocacy initiatives related to priority themes.

Working through and collaborating with alliances and with partners from around the world, this role aims to develop and implement effective advocacy strategies to influence strategic targets and processes beyond the national level, to regional and international fora. The role will collaborate with strategic partner coalitions and alliances to maximise progress on key advocacy areas, building a global movement for justice and effectively coordinating and integrating north, south, regional and global campaign initiatives. This post will also provide campaign and advocacy expertise to colleagues in the International Department and beyond, as well as working closely with them on supporting related initiatives.

About you
