General Profile/Performance Expectations
Incumbent has broad professional knowledge and skills, acquired through extensive practical experience or academic qualification. To succeed in CMK, ability in Leadership and Thinks and Acts Decisively are key.
  Candidate should also demonstrate i) proficiency/independence in building own functional mastery and ii) passion for understanding consumers both qualitatively and quantitatively and then translating this in to action.
Scope
The candidate will have accountability for category and geographical consumer and market knowledge for Grow Africa Markets.  This should be translated in to business building recommendations.  They will also have accountability for building their personal and CMK mastery.
Job Requirements (per regional CMK definition):

·        Understand the business problem/opportunity, convert it into a research objective.
·        Work with more senior managers and expert resources to choose the best research tools and tests to address the problem/opportunity, culminating in recommending research design.
·        Analyze and interpret data in an objective, accurate, and high quality manner using appropriate analysis, integration/synthesis, and tools.  Learn to make recommendations on how to maximize the potential of the opportunity being researched.
·        Analyze and interpret data from secondary/external sources to determine market and consumer trends.
·        Ensure that business partners (Marketing, R&D, CBD, etc.) know what consumers and/or shoppers/ customers are saying by proactively seeking, analyzing and sharing learning.
·        Help identify need for additional research and analysis based on the business context.
Category Understanding :
·        Gain a foundational understanding of the market and consumer in terms of market size, growth, key segments, consumer habits, practices, attitudes, etc. based on existing data available.  In customer/ shopper area, gain fundamental understanding of customer, retail industry trends and shoppers.
CMK Techniques:
·        Understand the range of quantitative techniques available to handle various business situations.  Apply appropriate techniques with assistance from manager.  Exposed to at least one study on each major technique in their field, viz. MDO research.
·        Gain knowledge of the global technique and category standards so that own study designs utilize global standards whenever possible and adapt/design good local standards where needed.
·        Learn about research execution and gain basic understanding of suppliers’ role, MDO-Operations role, and execution challenges.
·        Define data output needs and align with management and supplier on how data will be delivered.
·        Gain exposure in experience creation and delivery; assist manager in the experience creation by leading execution of elements of the experience; always attend, and often summarise/capture learnings for sharing across business team.
Resource Management:
·        Train self on techniques.
·        Track project spending vs. proposal/budget.
·        Acquire skills on time management, effective presentation and data sharing skills, persuasive communication, as required.
·        Able to prioritize own and team work to deliver against agreed targets/deadlines on a quarterly/annual basis.

· Designing supply network for distributor business in markets
· Delivering case fill rate target ( CFR) and missed Case ( MC) for distributor business to its customers, while keeping distributor inventory at agreed levels
· Ensuring distributors deliver the products to the its customers shelves with high shelf availability (SooS) – where measured
· Ensuring that CBD input to forecast is reflected for distributor business appropriately
· Communicating with the Distributor and CBD team on all Supply Network related issues
· Ensuring deployment of products and logistics initiatives through distributors systems to the consumers
· Optimizing the Supply Chain, driving JVC opportunities and providing support to FPLC team
· Developing individual and team effectiveness as well as distributor organization

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Delivering KPI’s for distributor business as agreed and reviewed regularly with MFT and distributor teams: these include, CFR and MC (service level) for distributor business, distributor inventory and shelf out of stock for certain stores

2. Delivering joint forecasts with distributors that ensure product availability: including management of allocations, replenishment of inventory and contingency action plans

3. Developing relationships: internally with the CBD Team and externally with the distributor’s organization

4. Improving and aligning inter-company processes: impact on product flow, information flow and financial flow, to reduce the cost and time on each

5. Increasing organizational capacity: actively work across the Team, P&G and Customer Organizations to: achieve Team Effectiveness; build Customer Trust; role model behaviors and coach Customer and other P&G resources (i.e. Buyers, CSRs, CTLCs) to deliver volume, profit, and share growth

6. Implementing logistics tools: linking and optimizing the cost, reliability and responsiveness of the Supply Network from P&G to the Point of Sale (reducing non-value-added activities/costs)

7. Implementing logistics initiatives: lead deployment of Logistics and Customer initiatives including training and documentation, assist CBD distributor team with GBU initiatives and volume-building events which require special logistics support

8. Quantifying the customer’s logistics costs/savings and opportunities: lead quantification efforts to support reinvestment of logistics savings and help the CBD Team to commercialize these savings into volume and share growth opportunities via investment in CBD fundamentals

9. Review customization capability of distributors ( where applicable): work with QA team closely to ensure proper customization process exists and helps develop business growth

10. Assessing the distributor capability with GDA tools regularly : their logistics requirements, organization capabilities, warehouse management and work processes and systems, and manage the logistics action plans within MFT and distributor teams

11. Managing distributor orders via applicable tools: ensure distributor orders are received by the Company without any issue, by providing support to handle CRP or other ordering systems.
