Crane Shift-in-Charge – APM Terminals, Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria
This position offers an outstanding opportunity to join the global team at APM Terminals and contribute to the success of the organization. The position reports to Crane Manager.
Key Accountabilities
Ensure that the cranes and other equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable working condition in accordance with planned preventive maintenance program and to identify and rectify repetitive problems.
Monitor and develop Crane maintenance staff to ensure technical skills are maintained to current required standards.
Ensure that breakdowns are repaired promptly, and that the repair work does not disrupt the Operations.
Ensures that planning, scheduling, and unscheduled repairs are carried out efficiently and cost effectively, with quality service.
Assists in ensuring the administrative requirements of the Crane Section, including warranty obligations, inspection records, manual updates, equipment defect reports, maintenance services, policies, procedures, and practices.
Reviews and recommends updates to crane maintenance services policies and procedures to ensure quality, reliability, and efficiencies.
In addition to PM program, assists in the development of asset refurbishment and asset replacement program.
Prepare cost and performance reports in the format and at the intervals prescribed by management highlighting significant events.
Maintains an effective safety program & that proper measures are taken to prevent accidents
Plan and co-ordinate mechanical and electrical preventative activities for the crane section
Liaises with the Operations Division to determine equipment needs
Your Profile
Requires a university degree in Mechanical, Electrical engineering.
Additional training in both electrical and mechanical fields in any heavy industries is preferred.
Requires at least five to seven years of general supervisory experience in crane maintenance section in any ports, mines, steel and manufacturing plants. Must have specific knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical and related subjects.
Must be able to interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications.
Must be able to exercise good judgment in order to set priorities.
Sound knowledge of relevant mechanical/pneumatic/electronic engineering systems which include hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical circuits, PLC and fault diagnostics systems;
Capable of conducting technical training
Must have knowledge of general supervisory principles.
