Job Introduction

Role Responsibility
Reporting to the CEO and leading BBC Media Action as part of a small Management Team, you will be responsible for coordinating all professional services and business support (Finance, Technology, Legal, HR and Office Support functions) of BBC Media Action and for developing and implementing systems, procedures and working practices across the organisation to support effective programme delivery in the London office and 15 country offices, demonstrating value for money.  Engaging extensively within the BBC and externally, you will deputise for the CEO when needed. Additionally, you will ensure that the Finance and Audit committee of the Board of Trustees is enabled to carry out its work effectively and provide appropriate financial information to Trustees.

Are you the right candidate?
You will have a passion for international development issues and how media could be used to support work in these areas.  A good working and up to date knowledge of not for profit organisations as well as charity accounting and finance and reporting to non-executive boards will also be key. Plus, ideally, experience in the sector.
The ability to lead and deliver long-term financial strategy ensuring its alignment with the BBC’s overall strategy and pan corporate objectives will be essential.  You’ll bring a  commitment to ensure that robust financial controls exist and are operated that meet all regulatory/statutory/legal and professional requirements and demonstrate best practice.
Professional accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is a must.
