Area Finance Controller At BAT Africa-Cairo Egypt

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1) Business Results:

– Produce, analyse and explain quarterly forecasts for all Balance Sheet BS, Profit & Loss P&L and Cash Flow CF items for North Africa.
– Produce, analyse and explain all management reporting on Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and P&L including monthly explanation of all variances to budget, previous forecasts and prior year at the agreed timeliness.
– Budgeting, tracking and controlling of overheads for all the functions.
– Analyse and communicate the impact of all significant operational and strategic decisions on profits highlighting growth in the longer term vs. short term gains.
– Produce, analyse and explain all financial information in the North Africa Company Plan and produce all financial sections and all narratives for it.
– Produce and control Capex budget.
– Respond to ad-hoc queries from Management and the Group and present proposals and recommendation clearly.
2) Leadership Results:-

– Propose solutions to optimise decision making by line management and throughout other functions.
– Implement and guide others to embed the BAT Finance vision and strategy.
– Act and seen as a business partner within the organisation.
– Develop self and subordinate in accordance to BAT employee’s principles and best practice using BAT.
3) Management Results:-

– Supervise activities of subordinates to ensure progression towards objectives and conformance with the BAT’s employee quality standards. This includes coaching and providing on job training as well as evaluating the performance of other team members.
– Proactive support and advice to all departments for development of their budgets and controlling of their cost centres.
– Participate and integrate with all members of Effective Market Focus (EMF2) to analyse and forecast the impact of various decisions on the company’s financial performance.
4) Relationship Results:

– Closely work with the Finance controller and to ensure synergies in the management reporting for North Africa.
– Network with external peers to share best practice and position BAT North Africa as a benchmark company
– Support the Finance Director in financial/ MIS Reporting and analysis.
– Support Area and Regional teams on their reporting requirements related to Egypt.

5) Innovation Results

– Suggest and develop improvements to management reporting system and tools. This includes ongoing enhancement to current system as well as setting up new ideas/tools.
– Identify financial opportunities for maximising cash and profit and optimising overhead costs.
Essential requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional Knowledge
– The role holder should have a University degree in Business and a recognised accountancy qualification (CMA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
– He should be capable of analysing financial impact of potential strategic business decisions but also able to demonstrate the need for, and ensure implementation of, appropriate systems and controls.

Managerial & Interpersonal Skills
– A proactive member of the Finance Team with good communication skills, a methodical approach to work and the ability to prioritise tasks.
– He should have good understanding of all functions within the company, and particularly the relationship and interfaces between functions with very strong business awareness and general business knowledge to ensure high quality analysis.
– The dynamic nature of the market requires an individual with proven potential and strong management and interpersonal skills this should all be aligned to BAT leadership capabilities.
– Has an ability to work with all levels of staff within the company and handle relationships with external parties
– Have good analytical skills

Experience
– Minimum of 7 years experience in finance of which 4 of them in a managerial position.
