Unilever Africa Recruits Occupational Health Nurse

Job Purpose
To provide occupational health and safety service to employees by administering the medical centre.
Key Responsibilities
1. Primary Health Care
Diagnosis and treats minor illnesses and injuries
Monthly monitors employees with chronic illnesses
Co-ordinates health awareness programmes on site and makes recommendations to the Company Medical Officer (CMO) and the managers.
2. Health Screening
Conducts periodic health examinations and screening tests using job specifications. (this includes annual lung function test, audiometries, foodhandlers examination and reach truck medicals, entry and exit medicals) and makes recommendation to the CMO and factory management.
3. Administration
Develops and maintains an effective patient record system via reports and statistics, and injury claim processing.
Maintains and implements Occupational Health Policies and procedures
Provides emergency services when required and co-ordinates external resources in cases of crisis.
4. Health Education and rehabilitation
Co-ordinates and holds group discussions and one to one education sessions on topics like HIV, AIDS, TB, hypertension etc.
5. Risk assessment
Monitors employees according to the risk exposed to e.g. noise – using audiometer, hexane by conducting urine tests.
Monitors enzymes levels and its effect on employees and the health of food handlers and advises managers of any concerns.
Key Skills and Qualification

Registered Nurse with B. Tech in Occupational Health Nursing and Pharmacology and family planning or B. Cur (Occupational Health) or relevant Occupational Health Diploma
At least 3 years Occupational Health experience in busy manufacturing set up.
Knowledge of MS Office (word, excel and outlook).
Drivers licence.
