The Role

To ensure the effective and efficient coordination of the end to end supply chain and the delivery of the Guinness Nigeria portfolio to customers and consumers across Nigeria.

Key Responsibility

• Ensures Supply Chain Guinness Nigeria’s financial targets and performance promise.

• Along with Supply Director generates the strategy to improve efficiency & effectiveness of Supply.

• Ensures Supply is a true business partner in developing & delivery of the Guinness Nigeria’s strategy

• Delivers flexibility, provide soJutions to improve service levels and identify opportunities to reduce Cost of goods sold whilst protecting our Brands and Corporate reputation.

The person:

• Possess a combination of functional expertise, intellectual insight & change management experience.

• Minimum 10years experience in s senior Role in supply chain or manufacturing essential (FMCG preferred)

• Outstanding track record of leadership-ability to engage team and build strong business partnerships

• Has demonstrated real Thought Leadership & cutting Edge understanding of supply chain development

• Educated to University Degree level at minimum. Postgraduate Qualification an added advantage.

Purpose:

    * Lead the Supply BPM process across Guinness Nigeria to ensure consistent and rigorous analysis of business performance across COGS, Inventory, and CAPEX along with state-of-the art R&O’s (e.g. per brewery and supply unit)
    * Co-lead the annual Supply Planning process attaining stretching targets to be translated in YOY COGs reductions
    * Drive capabilities and common WOW across Supply Finance and Supply community, included, but not limited, to SAP/BW effectiveness/optimisation
    * To support the development of the Supply Finance team and play a critical role in increasing finance awareness within supply partners

Top 3-5 Accountabilities

Address with the Head of Supply Finance the Supply Business Performance agenda within Guinness Nigeria, providing concise, quality management information on key business drivers

Provider of insightful supply/commercial analysis of business performance issues and opportunities. Drive resolution of issues and hold people to account for follow through on actions that result in optimal business performance

Responsible for the timely and accurate production of a monthly BPM pack, R&O and strategic plan packs which guarantee full integrity of Guinness Nigeria financials

Act as a true finance business partner to the supply function by providing value-added analysis using the Africa One mindset

Develop a culture of data accuracy and integrity across all Supply financial information such as COGS, SKU costing, CAPEX, inventory

Qualifications and Experience Required:

* Master in Finance / Economics or qualified / partially-qualified accountant

* Extensive experience using SAP/BW along with advanced Excel spreadsheet for modelling and reporting.

* Excellent analytical and problem solver skills along with project management skills in a cross-functional team setting.

* Demonstrable experience of establishing credibility, influencing and working at senior management levels along with self starter, high commitment, delivering against goals with minimal supervision – ability to hit the ground running

* Able to effectively influence through peers / senior management and to manage different stakeholders in order to execute flawless — a master of execution.

* Able to lead and energise others through personal impact across organisation, providing at all time challenges to Status Quo and building upon them.

Guiness is now recruiting for a Packaging Operations Supply Manager.

This role will play a key role in achieving and ensuring delivery of Packaging Performance promise, they will align and champion the improvement programs and ensure compliance to standards.

Dimensions

1. Financial:

* This role is important to the achievement of the overall Africa region business plans by impacting on COGS in a supply centre delivering 775 M£ NSV through ensuring Diageo has the most cost effective operations across the owned and managed sites inside Africa.
* They will support the CI projects and support & lead the site teams in the implementation of best practice across all plants including.
* They will ensure all Diageo’s assets are utilized effectively before any further investment.

2. Market Complexity:

* This role operates across multiple markets in the developing and volatile economies of Africa as well as interacting at a global level with global functions and other supply centres.
* The role includes ensuring compliance with diverse regulatory systems in various countries.

3. Leadership Responsibilities:

* This role will champion packaging efficiency improvements, process quality and cost improvement across Africa.
* They will help develop strategy at the Supply Hub level and will develop plans and lead implementation across the operating sites.
* They will ensure a culture of continuous improvement is developed. This role will lead up to 5 Packaging Specialists.

Accountabilities:

* Develop and implement packaging efficiency improvements, reduction in material and liquid waste and step change in outer packaging quality in plants.
* Support & lead the site teams in CI delivery using a structured PP methodology, building capability & the implementation of best practice across all plants.
* Leads and tracks plant action plans and ensures ability of plans to hit KPI’s.
* Responsible for assisting the operational management to access the correct support on specific issues if the Support Person is unable to resolve the issue.

Qualifications and Experience:

* University degree in Science with an Engineering/ Operational qualification/status, Diploma Master Brewer (IOB) qualification.
* Experience in a senior production role (five plus years) such as Packaging manager/Production manager/ Brewing manager.
* Expert manufacturing management principles and techniques in packaging, perfect plant.
* Understanding of best practice implementation model and strategy.
* Understanding of the principles of change management and cultures in different countries.
* Analytical problem solving and auditing skills.
* Understanding of governance standards such as LTO, ISO, and HACCP. Self-motivated and achievement oriented leader.
* Role to be based in West Africa and will requires a considerable amount of travel across the Supply Hub markets; therefore the incumbent needs to manage the role effectively from a variety of locations.
