Structure
On the Pan Africa Graduate programme our ‘real job’ philosophy ensures you will benefit from authentic experiences designed to accelerate your career development. You will build your expertise and knowledge by completing three 12-month rotations within your chosen discipline and there will be opportunities to spend one of these rotations in a different African market.
Support and Development
The three-year programme includes both functional training and leadership development. Functional training helps you gain the skills, knowledge and experience that will form the foundation of your career with Diageo. Meanwhile, we help you build your leadership expertise so you can encourage thinking, stimulate people and drive change.

Essential qualifications and qualities

Diageo is recruiting for a Quality Systems Specialist (Guiness Nigeria)
Guinness Nigeria has prided itself in the Quality of its product since it first started operations in 1962. It therefore implemented a Quality Management System designed to comply with the requirement of NIS ISO 9001: 2008 STANDARD covering production and installation.

Purpose of Role

Develop and Implement company wide audit of GNPLC quality system in line with the requirements of NIS ISO 9001:2008 and product consistency

Co-ordinate compliance with the standards through a programme of audits and follow-up of agreed corrective/preventive actions for all GNPLC supply procedures and Standard Operation Procedures. (SOPs)

Implement the integrated plan for the Audit of Quality Systems, GMP & HACCP with Diageo Risk management standards.

Support certification and compliance to ISO 22000 an ISO 14000 and any other new standard adopted by GNPLC

Top 3-5 Accountabilities

Develop and Implement annual plan for managing all the systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and ISO 14000) across all GNPLC operating sites ensuring adherence.

Develop and Implement periodic audit schedule for the Management Systems and SOPs across GNPLC to drive compliance and ensure corrective and preventive actions is effective

Reporting on effectiveness of Quality Audits and Quality Management System to QSMR committee

Liaise with external certification bodies and support the compliance activities for all regulatory requirements around Products and operations.

Deliver stretching improvement plans using the PP methodology and support sites in the use of perfect brew and pack as an improvement tool

Qualifications and Experience Required
    * A Degree or equivalent in Technical Discipline
    * 2-5 yrs experience in brewing or FMCG manufacturing environment in line operational roles in Supply and Planning with functional Quality Management Systems.
    * Diploma in Brewing will be advantageous.

Leadership and Functional Responsibilities

- Should be able to develop and maintain warehousing and inventory management best practices in accordance with Diageo warehouse management standards.

- Take leadership and develop a high performance team culture in warehousing, inventory management and customer service.

- Manage compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) with internal and external customers.

- Implement and monitor waste minimisation initiatives

Accountabilities

· Management of inventory and control of fulls and empties and accountable for the efficient receipt of products to achieve set objectives and ensuring fraud-free distribution operations.

· Responsible for ensuring efficient support to packaging lines with empties and provision of adequate storage space for packaged products.

· Manage vehicle utilisation and efficiency to achieve target turn-round and journey times in the breweries to maximise operational efficiency to support the downstream supply chain activities.

· Develop and closely follow up on the training and development needs of his / her team in order to enhance and embed productivity in the warehouse in line with departmental objectives.

· Responsible for the effective management and prompt handling of customer complaints and sales / marketing related issues.

Qualifications and Experience Required

· Degree qualified. Masters degree will be an added advantage.

· Computer literate and ability to work under pressure and respond to tight deadlines.

· A minimum of 4 years working experience in a related, operations or inventory management role

· Good interpersonal skills, convincing personality and a team player.

· Good Communicator, commercially aware and able to adapt to a fast changing operations environment.

Guiness Nigeria is recruiting for a Procurement Category Manager.

Leadership Responsibilities:

* Create, develop and recommend strategic options, across geographical and business cultural boundaries, and working with dispersed teams (both Nigeria and London-based) to finalise, agree, and implement category strategies.
* Brilliant execution of the Category Management and Supplier Performance Management process using the LOOP, leading and securing stakeholder approvals at GATE meetings using presentations of a very high standard and capable of withstanding considerable scrutiny from senior Exec-level stakeholders to make very important decisions regarding the routes our business will take to create value and achieve our Mission.

Purpose of Role:

* Responsible for the development of stretching category strategies that clearly deliver our Procurement Functional Value agenda of Assure, Protect and Create for all areas of the business.
* To embed E-procurement in Guinness Nigeria.
* Responsible for coaching and development of Supplier Performance managers to achieve required supplier capability to achieve D2011 objectives.
* There will be occasional requirements for national, regional-hub (Cameroun/Ghana) and international (UK) travel.

Accountabilities:

* This role will closely support the Portfolio Managers and Head of Procurement in driving the Procurement Function to Destination 2011, acting as a key member of the team by leading the team’s robust application of key category management tools such as the LOOP, supply chain analysis and business needs analysis.
* Implementation of HoP-designated key projects through effective project management, utilising appropriate e-procurement tools to maximise speed, efficiency and drive of benefits e.g. e-RFI’s e-RFP’s, e-auctions, spend analysis.

Qualifications and Experience:

ESSENTIAL

1. University Degree in any commercially biased-discipline, with proven relevant 7+ years post-qualification – including some quality procurement-functional experience within a forward thinking, fast-paced and value-adding blue-chip FMCG environment.
2. Professional procurement qualification desirable (CIPS/ISM/MBA), and capable of rapidly developing full understanding of world-class Procurement systems and practices, including all Diageo Category Management processes and associated tools.
3. Strong IT skills base, including intermediate proficiency in Office applications.

DESIRABLE

1. Previous experience of working within or closely with an FMCG Procurement Function (prior SAP experience an advantage) for an extended period.
2. Strong communication skills evident in the ability to work in a team environment and build great relationships with stakeholders, suppliers and end users.
