We are looking on behalf of our client for a Head of Engineering & Maintenance for a position based in Lagos and Warri, Nigeria. Successful candidates must be degree qualified in Engineering with
chartered engineer status and with significant experience in senior role in Oil and Gas sector.
Candidates must also have:
*Experience in Oil and Gas field production including drilling and well activities
*Knowledge of Oil Field contracts and contracting strategies
*Mentoring and coaching of others

The job holder will play a vital role within the company Operations Leadership Team. The role will establish high class engineering and maintenance team to support operations. The role must provide high class performance and leadership to the Engineering + Maintenance function ensuring that competencies meet the business challenges and be active in mentoring and developing the staff to maintain sustainable competitive advantage.

As a key function leader in the Operations leadership team, the job holder will work closely with other functional leads as well as other group managers (HSES, CFO, and Corporate Services). Managing the balance between the corporate and operational priorities will therefore be essential as well and excellent influencing skills which will compliment the operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities: 
*To play a leading and collaborative role in the Operational Leadership Team, reporting to and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer and participating on the leadership team.
*Establish and lead Engineering and Maintenance support function for operations.
*Establish Technical Authorities to support operations
*Establish and maintain Asset Integrity Management system. (AIMS)
*Process safety
*Structural integrity
*Corrosion Management
*Effective management of change processes, (MOC)
*Oversee the development and implementation of maintenance routines
*Responsibility for Capital projects
*Implement a Quality Management system
*Supporting other members of the management team(s).
*Provide Planning support to operations
*Contribution to reduction in lifting costs
*Support to Gas projects team
*Provide support to Contractor Performance reviews.

Key Success factors: 
*Lead key Engineering + Maintenance contractor quarterly performance reviews
*Asset reliability
*Meeting the objectives set against the Asset integrity management system
*Recruitment, retention, competency standards and development of staff
*Feedback from Operations and Project teams on effective support which improves availability and reduces costs
*Delivery of Capital projects on time and within budget

HSE Responsibilities: 
*All HSE matters relating to the development and executive of new developments
*Maintaining effective support for Base and Field organisations.
*Leadership and advance safety auditing at all locations
*Provide engineering input to safety cases etc.
*Ensure policy goals and guidance are embedded and maintained in all activities

Shell Nigeria: Oil Spills Compensation Adviser(Warri)


Shell companies have been exploring for and producing hydrocarbons for over a century.

Today, we have interests in exploration and production ventures in more than 39 countries and employ approximately 19,000 staff (not including contractors).

SPDC is is currently looking to recruit an Oil Spills Compensation Adviser for our Warri office.
Responsibilities:

In this role you will supervise the assessment, valuation, negotiation and payment of all oil spills/damage claims required for the respective SPDC operational area(s) in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet projects targets / schedules and ensure prompt resolution of oil spills/damage claims demands and disputes in order to avoid disruptions to company operations and improve relations with its host communities.
Support the development and implementation of strategies for dispute resolution and pre-empting conflicts / litigations on spills claims compensation payment matters in order to reduce the Company’s contingent liability and / or defend / mange litigations arising from spills claims compensation payment issues.
Develop and implement strategies and policies for oil spills compensation and its integration in the entire Oil Spill Management programme of the company
Execute in a timely and cost-effective manner the assessment and payment of compensation claims for spills arising from SPDC operations in the area(s) to meet project targets / schedules.
Interface with Community Relations, the Pipelines Organisation, Asset teams, the Survey team and external consultants to successfully execute field verification and assessment activities.
Identify and sensitise claimants and maintain contacts with relevant stakeholders including Government Agencies, Community Opinion Leaders, Claims Agents, NGOs, etc. preparatory to the field verification / assessment exercise
Provide support to Legal Department on litigations related to payment of compensation for spill/damage claims and may be required to attend court procedures.
Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience
Must possess Bachelors in Estate Management (Minimum of Second Class Lower division) and be an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Valuers and Surveyors.
A Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Sciences/Management will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated ability to be creative, analytical, imaginative with a high level of high integrity to the discharge of duties.Must be an excellent team player possessing good Leadership, multidisciplinary team and networking skills and the capacity to tolerate a high-pressure work environment.
Good understanding of the challenges of the physical environment of the Niger Delta Region.
Excellent understanding of relevant Laws, policies and Practices governing Compensation in Nigeria.
Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution capabilities
