Our client requires a Mechanical Piping Supervisor for a position based in Nigeria to start ASAP. This role is being offered on a 4/4 rotational basis on a 12 month renewable contract.

Main Activities: 

* Monitor and lead follow-up of contractor’s activities in mechanical/piping discipline at Obite site and ensure compliance with project specifications and best engineering practice
* Report to Construction Superintendent on progress of his work and on site modification/deviations
* Responsible for the timely issuance of various planning documents & reports as required
* Supervise the overall activities linked to the discipline (process piping, mechanical equipment installation – static/rotating and sensitive equipment).
* Review and analyse planning updates including critical path for discipline related activities. Review progress for discipline related activities and coordinate with project planning engineer
* Be proactive at anticipation of problems in his discipline, articulate necessary actions and to inform his hierarchy.
* Liaise with other discipline to ensure consistency of the work. Close relationship with QC team is mandatory
* Coordinate with Operations to ensure compliance with SIMOPS requirements
* Comment on contractor documents – method statements etc in due time
* Assist the pre-commissioning coordinator
* Ensure that approved site verifications are implemented and documented for as-built
* Lead any site verification or survey in his discipline and coordinate reporting of results

Required Qualifications and Background 

* BSC or HND in Mechanical Engineering
* 8 years of experience for BSC; 12years of experience for HND, in mechanical and piping installation in an Oil and Gas construction company.
* Independent, self motivating, ability to motivate other team members including contractor personnel
* Must speak English
* Must be computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and basic AutoCAD.

Scope of Service: 

* Prepare documentation for and undertake pre-qualification exercises to determine supplier tender lists

Essential service provider qualifications / experience: 

* A MINIMUM of 8 -10 years of contracts experience (BOTH pre and post contract award) within the Oil & Gas or other directly relevant sector
* Previous experience in the preparation/negotiation/administration of EPSC/EPIC Projects in an Operator or Lead Contractor environment is essential
