Department Description
§ To manage MTN.com website and other Group digital assets (apps, .mobi, web, social).
§ To assist in the implementation of digital marketing and operational processes, providing support to the Group Marketing Services team.
Brief Description
§ Deliver ad hoc projects and regular publishing requirements on time and to budget.
§ Continuous refreshment of content and information on portals
§ All marketing activities to comply with brand values.
Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of relevant marketing activities.
Detailed Description
Task Complexity:
§ Administer and develop MTN Group websites and apps;
§ Adhere to brand and customer experience standards
§ Manage ongoing maintenance and quality assurance of all websites for which you are responsible.
§ Manage and continually improve the content management process for regular critical activities, such as the publication of annual and interim results, and sustainability reports.
§ Make simple changes to the website (HTML, CSS, javascript) as required.
§ Manage one off projects from requirements gathering through to successful delivery (on time, on budget, meeting stakeholder needs), such as
§ .mobi project,
§ Careers project,
§ Press Office revamp.
§ Supplier management:
§ Coordinate 3rd party system integrators and agencies to develop websites and content.
§ Specifiy and assign work orders, and oversee their execution by 3rd parties.
§ Review and approve or reject all work submitted by 3rd parties. These work orders include maintenance, instruction documents that control all new development, and content publishing on the website.
§ Manage the supplier and vendor payment systems (in scope retainer based invoicing, out of scope invoicing approval, processing) for internal operational budgets.
§ Prepare and present monthly budget reports that have been reconciled with the financial reports generated by the digital agencies, as well as the monthly MTN payables report.
§ Operational management
§ Collect and analyse site metrics (site traffic and performance). Produce regular reports and recommendations for all websites you manage, including mtn.com, for review by senior stakeholders.
§ Sponsor new ideas for digital technology, media and marketing that can be trialled on Group websites.
§ Keep abreast of changes to regulations and web standards (accessibility, SEO etc.) that affect the websites.
§ Assist in the implementation of digital strategic marketing initiatives where necessary, particularly those crossing digital media, CI, social etc.
§ Continually review and improve operational processes to increase efficiency and improve delivery.
§ Present at meetings and forums on respective marketing initiatives.
Job Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in field of Computer science, Web programming, marketing or related field.
Understanding of basic marketing fundamentals, E-Commerce, content creation and integration, campaign development and marketing promotion.
§ 3 to 4 years digital experience – digital marketing experience would be an advantage.
§ 3 to 4 years experience managing websites
§ 3 to 4 years technical experience in front end technologies – HTML 5, CSS, javascript
§ 3 to 4 years experience in the following would be an advantage:
§ Front end technologies – in addition to above, responsive design and XML as well as knowledge of legacy browser technologies e.g. HTML 4.
§ Knowledge of 3rd party CMS systems, particularly Sharepoint.
§ Knowledge of mobile native app development (BB, Android, IOS)
· Understanding of website architecture and security, and server side technologies e.g. Java, .Net, PHP Understanding of corporate finance.
1+ years of website analytics use – tool management, reporting, analysis and recommendations.
