Job Title
Director, Systems Support Overview:
Provides extensive leadership, direction, and supervision of technical staff performing in the Systems Support and Management area. Provides oversight on activities for IT services, such as personal computer services or Windows server and Windows client application technologies. Other technology support areas could include Windows client and server operating systems, various core and non-core software applications, messaging/collaboration software’s or services and physical device hardware or software installations, upgrades and maintenance activities. Design, lead and support departmental projects. Manage to financial and resource estimates. Provide direction on technology directions and process or cost improvement efforts.
Role:
•Responsibilities include supervision of existing resources, project management, implementation and oversight of projects.
•Researches and develops innovative solutions.
•Manages assigned regional projects, which include responsibility for planning; time and cost control; resource utilization and implementation.
•Supports Vendor management.
•Recommends future directions.
•Coaches and develops direct reports and other employees.
•Assumes role of primary technical advisor to management on emerging technologies that could impact new developments.
•Supports chronic complex problem resolution.
•Participates in strategic and financial planning.
•Ensures department or project is adequately staffed, trained and effectively managed.
All About You:
Education:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge / Experience:
•Extensive knowledge of Project Management methodology and best practices.
•Extensive experience in leadership position of a team consisting of five or more personnel.
•Limited supervision and leads in determining team’s and departmental objectives.
•Periodic work direction and review.
Skills/ Abilities:
•Lead and manage senior technical individual contributors and management staffs.
•Foster open communications across various organizational levels.
•Motivate direct and indirect reports to deliver superior results.
•Think clearly and utilizes sound judgment.
•Provide functional and directional guidance to staff and recommends policy or strategic direction changes to management.
•Will interact across multiple organizational levels and will assume a lead role and set direction for large or complex projects.
Work Conditions:
•May require occasional travel.
