Basic Purpose:
Serves as a liaison between the product development ad sales teams. Identifies non-traditional distribution opportunities, develops and packages news channels and introduces the new channels via pilots.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
With reference to the OPCO distribution strategy and input from the Sales Director, develop alternative channel packages for the OPCO:
Identifies channel options for consideration by the management team.
Packages the proposed channels and develops relevant sales processes and tools.
Shares the tools and processes and with the management team for input and approval, as required.
Serve as a liaison between the product development and sales teams and ensure that the sales input is:
Attends product development meetings
Presents new product ideas to the sales team and gives feedback to the development team
Studies new products and ensures that he/she understands their features and target customers.
Identify non-traditional distribution opportunities, develops and packages news channels:
Assesses the suitability or otherwise of existing channels for distributing the new products and establishes the need for alternative channels a required.
Identifies suitable channels and presents to management for approval
Ensures that sales teams are trained on the new channels
Oversees the introduction of the new channels via pilots.
Monitors the performance of the new channels and makes changes as required.
Prepare reports for management review as per the reporting calendar:
Generates weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on channel performance
Present the reports to the management in scheduled meetings.
Manage, develop and motivate staff:
Participates in the recruitment and selection of Channel Development Coordinators
Trains and sets targets according to the sales and distribution projection
Monitors performance against targets and put in place remedial measures where required
Manages staff discipline
Competencies & Qualifications:
Qualifications
University degree in business, sales or equivalent with 9 to 14 years experience; 7-10 years with advanced degree
Able to handle, prioritize, multiple projects simultaneously
Good knowledge of channels
Able to work under high stress with short-term targets and objectives
IT literacy
Able to operate in a performance driven organization
Knowledge of English and/or French
