Established in 1973, SOS Children’s Villages, Nigeria is an independent, non-governmental, non-political, social development organization, an affiliate of SOS-Kinderdorf International. SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria focuses on the child’s development into a self supporting and contributing
member of the larger society. We strongly believe that a child’s development to his full potentials is best realised in a caring family environment. Our programme interventions are as follows:
a) Direct essential services to children of our target group (to quickly respond and fulfill the individual child’s survival needs, protection & development and participation right).
b) Capacity building interventions (to enable caregivers, families, communities and other duty bearers and service providers to develop the attitudes, knowledge, skills, resources, systems and structures to protect and care for the child).
c) Advocacy Actions (to improve on the overall framework and conditions for the development of children all over Nigeria)

NATIONAL ICT COORDINATOR
Position summary
The National ICT Coordinator who oversees the SOS Children’s Villages ICT function is a Senior National Management Team position based at the National Office. The National lCT Coordinator implements SOS-KDI global and continental iCT goals, policies, strategies, standards and guidelines in the National Association (NA). He designs the National Office (NO) and facilities ICT architecture and plans their long term ICT needs, ensuring that local long-term ICT requirements are met. The NationallCT Coordinator is responsible for the effective operations of information technology and information systems within the Country by promoting the organisational values, setting objectives with the team, and ensuring that support services are offered to, and takes an active part in the growth and development of to the SOS facilities/projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The Ideal candidate should possess a good degree in Computer Science and Information Technology or any related field. Possession of a post-graduate degree will be an added advantage. A minimum of 5 years cognate experience is required. In addition the candidate is expected to possess very good leadership, communication, decision making and interpersonal skills. People and Financial Management skills are also essential attributes.
VILLAGE DIRECTOR-MALE
Position summary
The Village Director lives permanently in the village and leads the overall development of the SOS Children’s Village by promoting the organisation values, setting objectives with his team, and ensuring that support services are offered to the SOS families. He provides leadership and guides all co-workers and plays a key role in guiding and promoting the professional development of the SOS mothers and also is a father to the children. As the head of the Village administration, he plays an active role in the growth and development of each child, ensuring their physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual welfare.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The Ideal candidate should posses a good degree in Management-Psychology/Education Nocational Training or Social Work. Possession of a post-graduate degree will be an added advantage. A minimum of 10 years cognate experience is required. In addition the candidate is expected to possess very good leadership, communication, decision making and interpersonal skills. People and Financial Management skills are also essential attributes. He should have good understanding of the Child Rights Act. Ability to speak Hausa language’ is a must while an understanding of the indigenous language will be a definite advantage.
FAMILY STRENGTHENING PROGRAMME COORDINATOR (FIELD):

Position summary
The FSP Coordinator (s) (Field) is a Field work position who will oversee the SOS Children’s Village programme activities (FSP/Social Centre), by promoting the organisation’s values and ensuring that families where children at risk of losing parental care are strengthened and empowered. He/She coordinate, and provide administrative/technical support to all stakeholders participating in the family strengthening programme (including the social centre activities)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The right candidate will be required to possess a good degree (Social/Health/Behavioural science and community development) or equivalent qualification in relevant subject area, preferably community development/development studies, or social sciences. Possession of a post-graduate degree will be an added advantage. Also a sound understanding of child rights and child protection, HIV&AIDS and national/local situation of OVCs are essential in addition the candidate is expected to possess very good leadership, communication, (excellent command of English Language, both written and verbal, while fluency in the language(s) spoken in the target location will be an advantage), financial management, decision making, interpersonal, and basic computerlinternet users’ skills. A minimum of 3 years cognate experience in community development work is essential. Candidate must have a valid driver’s licence
COMMUNICATION AND FUNDRAISING OFFICER
Position summary
The fund raising and Communication officer will be competent and an expertise in the field.of project and grant management as well as programming which are key to success when presenting applications to institutional donors but also for implementation of grant agreements. Required competencies and skills include the areas of project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation, financial reporting, programming expertise in relevant fields such as education, community capacity development, advocacy etc.
The candidate will be capable of raising significant income from Ministries of Social Affairs (MSAs), delegations of DAC donor countries such as Embassies and development co-operation delegations as well as multilateral donors (UN Agencies) and also from potential markets available in the Federal Capital Territory -Abuja.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The Ideal candidate should posses a good degree in Social Science or its equivalent. Possession of a post-graduate degree will be an added advantage. A minimum of 3 years work experience is required. The candidate must have a good and sustain relationship with donors and sponsors. Secure financial support and donations in kind from individuals, companies and other external bodies.
SOS MOTHER
Position summary
The SOS mother builds a close relationship with every child entrusted to her care, and provides security, love and stability that each child needs. As a child-care professional, she lives with the children, guides their development, and runs her household independently. She recognises and respects each child’s family background, cultural roots and religion.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The Mother lives, permanently in the Village in a house with the children entrusted in her care. She is responsible for the children’s individual psycho-social and educational development. She must possess a minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate. Possession of a Diploma/NCE in Home Economics/Nutrition will be an added advantage. She must be conversant with child care practices, children health, nutrition planning, cooking and managing family budget. She should also possess an above average written and oral communication skill. Above all, she must love children and has a homely and caring disposition. Applications from Widows are encouraged.
AUNTIES
Position Summary
The Aunties support the Mothers in caring for the children entrusted to them and relieve the Mothers as occasion demands.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
She is expected to possess a minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate with good oral and written communication. She should have natural love for children and tolerance, with good house keeping skills. She must be caring and demonstrate respectful attitude towards children.
SENIOR NURSING SISTER AND NURSING SISTER
Position Summary
The Nurses work in the Village to create an environment that promotes healthy living, as well as responding to the needs of individual children and staff. Provides preventive health services to facilitate the children’s optimal physical, mental, emotional, social growth and development. She provides confidential health services for individual children/staff and also supports, advises, counsels and refers children experiencing mental health chalenges, such as depression and critical health conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The candidates must be a registered Nurse/Midwife (SRN/SCM) with cognate working experience respectively in providing and coordinating primary health care services, designing and facilitating programmes on nutrition, reproductive health and family planning and other related issues.
SECRETARY/CASHIER
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The candidate must possess a minimum of ND in Accountancy, Secretarial Administration/NCE in Business Education with skills in office administration and petty cash management with at least 3 years working experience. He/She must possess good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. He/she must be computer literate
DRIVERS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The Driver is expected to possess a minimum of Senior Secondary School Certificate. He must also have a valid Drivers’ Licence and should be conversant with the road networks within Lagos and its environs. He is expected to possess a neat appearance, a pleasant disposition and a very good knowledge of the Nigerian Highway Codes. In addition, he must be child friendly.
SEWING AND FASHION DESIGN INSTRUCTOR
Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Vocational Training Centre, the Sewing and Fashion Design Instructor conducts training as specified in the training syllabus; and manages the class in a way that ensures efficient use of resources and training effectiven S/he is expected to prepare leaner- centred skill training lesson plans which are properly linked with the curriculum, and specify cliearly defined behavioural objectives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A good first degree. HND, NCE or their professional equivalents in relevant areas (Fashion & Textile Design, Garment Construction, Industrial Design etc). A professional certificate in teaching or education will be a distinct advantage.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate skill in the techniques of modern male and female garment construction with emphasis on smart pattern drafting, cutting, sewing and finishing, creative drawing and sketching. He/she must be able to organise interesting co-curriculum activities geared towards deepening trainees’ practical involvement in the professional and business sides of the fashion industry.
Ability to use modern sewing and ancillary equipment and tools (e.g. embroidery machine. industrial Whipping machine etc) to produce top quality and fashionable garment is essential.
A minimum of three years hands-on experience in garment construction obtained from reputable organisations is required.
COMPUTER ENGINEERING, WEBSITE AND COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN INSTRUCTOR.

Position Summary

He/She is expected to be creative and proactive in developing a learner-centred skill training lesson plans which are properly linked with the curriculum, and specify clearly defined behavioural objectives.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A good first degree, HND, or their professional equivalents in relevant areas (computer engineering, website design, AutoCAD (electrical and architectural Designs etc) A professional certificate in teaching or education will be a distinct advantage.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate skill in the repairing and trOUbleshooting fautty computer system, GSM, design simple anQ complex websites and the using of approp(iate AutoCAD software to perform 2D and 3D designs. He/she must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively teach all of the above requirements.
A minimum of three years hands-on experience in computer repair and support plus website design for reputable organizations is required.
A minimum of three years hands-on experience in garment construction obtained from reputable organisations is required.
