IHVN JOBS: REGIONAL MEDICAL OFFICER/CLINICAL ASSOCIATE (BENIN, FCT, JOS, KANO AND LAGOS)

IHVN is a leading provider of treatment, care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS with headquarters in Abuja and Regional offices in Benin, Jos, Kano and Federal Capital Territory. We require a competent and result-oriented candidate to fill the position below.

Education/Experience:

Medical degree – MD, MBBS, BMChB or its equivalents. Postgraduate qualifications preferably Fellowship of the Postgraduate Medical Colleges (Nigerian, West African). Masters degree in Public Health a plus. At least 5 years in Clinical practice and at least 3 years working experience in a HIV and TB or Malaria, Programme. High level of competence in data management, analysis and presentation. Familiarity with the Nigerian health system. Ability to communicate effectively, develop collegial relationships and work well as part of a team.

Key Areas Of Responsibility
  • Serves as site quality of care ombudsman to ensure that all patients receive high quality comprehensive HIV/AIDS care and treatment as outlined by FMOH and ACTION guidelines and SOPs.
  • Facilitate program and fiscal integrative management for both effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Work with site staff, site focal persons and IHVN staff to effectively address operational challenges (including lab equipment breakdowns, pharmacy stock outs, staffing shortages, training needs, commodity supply).
  • Provide onsite clinical mentoring and technical assistance to clinic staff.
  • Conduct trainings; healthcare provider training; provide clinical needs assessments, mentoring, preceptorship, monitoring and evaluation of healthcare programs.
  • Facilitate communication, collaboration, task-sharing and teamwork among clinic staff.
  • Ensure strong linkages between the clinic laboratory, TB program, PMTCT clinic, pediatric clinic, inpatient care and community outreach staff.
  • Ensure that site and patient level data including clinical data, laboratory data and community data are collected and documented into appropriate registers and tools.
  • Supervise site programmatic quality of care assessments.
