We are a major player in the polypropylene woven sacks business. due to current expansion and the need to consolidate our position, it has become necessary to seek for qualified professional to join our team.
Position: purchasing manager (ref: pmg/2009)
the job:
reporting to the MD/CEO, the person will be responsible for managing all local purchasing activities of the company. these will include processing local purchase requisitions, vendor selection, price and contact negotiations, ensuring non stock-out of regularly required items, market research, resolving vendor problems, maintaining and monitoring departmental purchase data, preparation of budget estimates etc
qualifications:
minimum of Bcs/Hnd in purchasing/supply, economics, engineer, textile technology, chemistry or related discipline. a masters degree will be an added advantage
professional membership:
institute of purchasing & supply
experience:
10 years relevant experience in the purchasing/supply function preferably in a manufacturing sector.
the person:
must have excellent negotiating and contract management skills, computer literate, of high integrity and must have attention for details and good judgment.
