Description:
We are currently seeking a Specialty Chemical Manager for an immediate permanent opening.
This position will be responsible for the management and direction of the product development and technology department for a particular business unit of a prominent international company.
This candidate will be responsible for the supervision of formulation scientists, technical support professionals, and customer service representatives. A full awareness of the concept to commercialization for the specialty chemical industry is a must. Candidates will also be expected to predict market trends and proactively produce products based on potential market/client needs.
Other duties will include working with suppliers and customers to ensure products are meeting their current and prospective needs. The candidate will also be participating in the business development process in both the tactical sense and long term strategy. Most of all, the candidate must have past experience with evaluating and resolving any technical feasibility, design optimization, and support the transition or scale-up to production of new products.
This person will be a vital role in communicating with key stakeholders and clients in the development and production of the products.
Candidates MUST have:
- A Masters Degree or PHD in the Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Chemistry or Chemical Engineering disciplines.
- Over 10 years experience within the specialty chemical industry (preferred industries include: adhesives, coatings, encapsulants, polymers)
- Management Experience
- Experience with formulation products from concept to commercialization
- Proven track record of successful creation of viable products based on client needs
- Ability to transition easily into role and add value immediately
- Be willing to travel approximately 30% of the time
