Job summary ****THIS IS A PERMANENT POSITION AND OPEN TO EU APPLICANTS ONLY**** This position involves the provision of welding engineering and materials support to projects as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The main focus of the role is;-
* Provision of specialist knowledge and expertise to organisation
* Technical support of procurement activities including provision of specifications and resolution of technical issues
* Technical support to tenders.
* Mentoring of less experienced engineers
* Liaison with client and IVB technical authorities
* Liaison with other discipline leads as part of dedicated project teams
* Identification and control of discipline specific project budgets

CANDIDATE must :

Present themselves in a professional manner appropriate to the role and must be able to articulate their views in a comprehensive manner with excellent written & verbal English
Must produce work of presentable quality
Posses a detailed knowledge within discipline with broad knowledge of industry requirements
Have good organisational skills and smart working methods


Qualifications and Education
DEGREE IN metallurgy/materials science or a related engineering topic - supported by additional qualifications specific to welding engineering
Other qualifications may be considered if supplemented by demonstrable and extensive relevant experience


Candidate should have:
Experience ideally within oil & gas or similar sector.
Experience in a position of technical authority
A broad knowledge of arc welding processes and materials
A good knowledge of relevant specifications
Experience in developing weld procedures

Applicant must be able to coach others and be a team player
Primarily office based in Aberdeen can involve travel to other sites/locations
Must be physically fit for required position subject to reasonable adjustments
