Position Summary
To manage the front line operation of Egypt’s largest Gas Fields in the Rashpetco/Burullus Joint Venture Company. This includes supervision of all production operations activity, including production, process, maintenance and support services, and requires the development and implementation of company standards to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.

Key Accountabilities
* Assume overall responsibility for Health, Safety and welfare of up to 200 full-time personnel and significant numbers of transient personnel at operational gas site

* Ensure the implementation of plans & programs related to production, processing, maintenance & supporting services to maintain safe and efficient production from Egypt’s largest gas hub

* Monitoring the implementation of periodical & preventive maintenance programs for the equipment to ensure optimal plant safety and availability

* Work closely with Management and technical support personnel in Cairo to effect engineering and operational change as required

* Ensure safe and timely integration of new projects into existing process whilst minimizing down time

* Participating in designing health, safety & environment plans & programs in accordance with BG and International standards

* Provide clear direction to all team members to ensure they understand their part in delivering Rashpetco’s performance targets and Operational Excellence standards in general.

* Establish competency assurance and training standard, facilities & resources in compliance with the RASHPETCO HR management system

* Coaching and support of staff through the BG Group HR Annual Cycle

* Act as incident commander during plant emergencies

* Compile OPEX and CAPEX budgets for Field Operations in line with JV, BG and partner reporting requirements

* Provide an effective management reporting system for the Field team, such that Capital and Operating costs within Operations can be tracked and managed to achieve the company’s targets

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute

* Extensive experience managing operational functions in the hydrocarbon exploitation or processing industries

* Leadership of multidisciplinary teams in a complex and changing organisational environment.

* Utilisation and effective interpretation of risk and hazard management tools such as HAZID, HAZOP, Process Safety Review, Quantitative Risk Assessment.

* Formulation of Safety and Asset Integrity improvement plans, together with front line leadership of related initiatives, including Behavioural Based Safety and Leading with Safety.

* Presentation to and influence of senior management up to and including Asset managers.

* Involvement in significant organisational change programmes.

* Engineering graduate in relevant discipline – Process, Electrical, Mechanical or Instruments

* Professional qualification (Chartered Engineer) is desirable, or sufficient experience as above.

* Ability to develop and implement best practice systems to support safe and efficient operation of complex gas network

* Knowledge of gas industry and gas chains

* Knowledge of Arabic would be advantageous

* Fluent written and spoken English is essential

* Manager of a 24 hour, 365 day operating facility

* Must be internationally mobile for 28/28 rotation

* Regular visits to Cairo for Senior Management meetings
