Basic Purpose:Implements and administers Zain's recruitment policy and best practice to ensure that Zain attracts the appropriate workforce. Responsible for resourcing the business. Provides work direction or guidance regarding employment law and OPCO policy to less experienced members of team. Operates with
minimal supervision and occasional review of completed work.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages recruitment actvities of the OPCO ensuring that quality of staff with the requsitie skills are hired:
* Conducts Job Analysis for both existing and new jobs in the company.
* Develops recruitment practices that are in line with the best practice and comply with local legialaion and both Group and OPCO policy.
* Develops and creates HR tools including job descriptions, competence profiles and assessment tools and ensures that these are applied consistently.
* Inform managers and directors of the recruitment policies and procedures and ensures compliance.
* Build networks with other HR professionals that are of benefit to Zain.
Executes recruitment assignments and ensures that these are executed to specifications and in a timely manner:
* Receives approved requisitons from the recruitment department.
* Confirms the job description and person specifications with the department, and agrees a suitable recuitment process with the department.
* Sources suitable candidates and draws up a shortlist for interview.
* Sets up and chairs an interview panel.
* Refers details of the selected candidates to compensation and benefits to facilitate the negotiation of contract terms and issuance of offer letters.
* Ensures that communication to non succesful candidates is made in a timely manner.
* Continually reviews the OPCO recruitment process taking into consideration market best practice and manages recruitment actvities of the OPCO ensuring that quality of staff with the requsitie skills are hired:

Continually reviews the OPCO recruitment process taking into consideration market best practice and
* identifies areas that require redressing and make recommendations to management for action
Manage the headcount:
* Provide input into the budgetary process
* Monitor the headcount changes against the business needs to avoid exceeding approved limits
Manages career fairs, ensuring that Zain Kenya positions itself as a preferred employer in the minds of university/college graduates and attracts exceptional graduates:
* Draws up career fair programmes and ensures that the necessary arrangements are put in place and the fairs executed in a professional manner.
* Builds and maintains strong relatioships with select colleges and universities and keeps these updated of Zain's skills requirements..
* Plans and manages student tours of Zain operations in liaison with Marketing.
Ensures that new staff are integrated into Zain in a speedy and efficient manner that allows them to settle down quickly:
* Liases with the relevant departments to ensure that all affected individuals are aware of the new employee's start date and that necesssary arrangements are made.
* Checks to ensure that the new employee is provided with the required tools in arrival.
Manage, develop and motivate staff to ensure quality performance:
* Defines roles and set performance targets for team
* Monitors and gives feedback on performance
* Conducts skill gap analysis
* Identifies training needs and offers on job training
* Coaches and mentors departmental staff on recruitment policies and processes;
* Supervise the execution of tasks to ensure quality outputs.
* Sets performance objectives, conduct performance appraisals and takes remedial action where required.
Manages agencies and suppliers and ensures that they offer quality service at optimal prices:
* Identifies and recommends suppliers, and maintains an up to date list.
* Ensures that suppliers meet contract terms in respect to work quality, turn around time and pricing.
Business Partnering:
* Builds credibility with business partners by delivering learning solutions that meet their needs and yield outstanding results.
* Develops and maintain strong working relationships with business unit leaders and peers. Uses collaborative approach to developing solutions and programs, exercising appropriate influence for desired outcomes as needed.
Competencies & Qualifications
Qualifications
University degree in social sciences/business administration
Post Graduate Diploma in HR Management will be an added advantage
Recruitment & Selection training plus good knowledge of HR concepts
Good knowledge of the Kenyan Employment Act
Good MS Office Suite skills
Able to operate in a performance driven organisation
Knowledge of English
