This is a role in the IT & Technology organisation, fulfilling the position of Service Continuity Lead, to provide worldwide strategic planning and tactical level technical and project support to oversee and coordinate the development, maintainance, auditing and testing IT&T’s global Service Continuity plans for emergency and disaster events.
The Service Continuity Lead is responsible for developing a Service Continuity Standard, developing a structure to maintain DR/BCP records and implementing the processes to support its ongoing operation

To provide service continuity expertise and skills to support the:
• Identification and documentation of current recovery capability
• Identification and assessment of risk at IT&T Data centres and computer rooms
• Oversee recovery testing
• Provide regular reporting on the global status of Service Continuity
Plan Service Continuity:
• Liaise with the Group Security and the business to undertake business impact assessments and to define Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives RPO) based upon business continuity plans (BCP)
• Oversee the development of effective IT Service Continuity plans for critical systems and processes by BG Group business, department and function and the regular testing of them
• Ensure organisation readiness for unplanned failure of IT services and operations due to natural and human induced disasters
• Own the IT Service Continuity Standard and assure its effective communication and implementation throughout IT&T including third party suppliers
• Champion new products and enhancements that will mitigate identified risks from disasters, as part of annual investment
• Defines criticality criteria and the quantifiable and qualitative impacts on the organisation arising from the loss of systems' availability, integrity or confidentiality
• Defines employee awareness and training programmes that communicate responsibilities for service continuity
• Verify that IT Service Continuity Standard is applied to critical systems
• Establish a position as the primary point of contact and consultation on IT Service Continuity requirements and issues
• Represent IT Service Continuity in Governance Boards and other managing bodies, as appointed
• Maintain requisite awareness on Service Continuity procedures among Global IT & Technology staff
• Provide regular reporting to IT management and other key stakeholders on the current status of global IT Service Continuity
Lead IT Service Continuity Response:
• Manage and coordinate all aspects of actual recovery, plan implementation and efforts, including emergency response, recovery procedures and IT Business Continuity processes
• Manage and direct the restoration of BG data, communications and IT enabled business processes in case of disasters
People Management:
• Lead, motivate, develop and appraise Service Continuity team members so that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard and meets the current and future needs of the business

Incumbent should have the following professional experience:
• Proven experience of Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Operational processes in industry
• An excellent understanding of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity principles and technology
• Experience of working within a risk management framework
Education:
• Professional knowledge in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity discipline, supported by professional accreditation
Candidates should also have the following professional skills for this role:
• Considerable technical knowledge and experience in multiple aspects of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity operations
• Knowledgeable about technologies relevant to Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
• Ability to direct and advise project teams on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
The following professional and personal skills are required in a Grade D candidate:
• Is decisive, focuses on priorities, demonstrates high engagement levels and communicates upwards with no surprises
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills, able to determine the impact of an issue quickly to prioritise further work
• Able to contribute to operational debates, helping to identify and address future opportunities and challenges
• Able to manage and prioritise day to day workload to ensure maximum efficiencies are gained
• Promotes a positive and professional work environment with drive and enthusiasm. Is self-motivated
• Able to manage successful relationships, can influence stakeholders and shares knowledge effectively
• Good communication skills (both written and oral)
