Global Tax AdvisorDo you want strengthen ActionAid’s impact on both the national and global,political agenda on tax justice, and help develop our international advocacy workand collaboration with tax coalitions and networks?ActionAid Denmark is a member of the global ActionAid Federation. It is an ambitiousorganization and you will become part of an international group of dedicated professionalsworking for tax justice. As a Global Tax Advisor, you will be a central player in the efforts tobuild the policy and advocacy capacity on tax of both national ActionAid offices as well asinternational networks and alliances on tax justice and ActionAid’s own global Tax JusticeWorking Group.As a Global Tax Advisor, you will:• Provide technical support and policy input to ActionAid’s Tax Justice Working Groupmembers in their active participation at both national, regional, and global levelopportunities.• Support and provide policy input to research, including research methodology.• Engage with and have an overview of policy hooks and opportunities both atnational, regional and global level and support the Tax Justice Working group to linknational level tax policy work with initiatives at regional and global level.• Provide support and input to learning initiatives on tax with alliances and within theActionAid Federation.• Support specific country office staff within the Tax Justice Working Group bystrengthening their technical skills in relation to Tax Justice work• Explore and support the development of new strategic partnerships and alliances.The job requires that you have• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.• MSc/MA in the fields of Social Science, Development Studies, Human Rights,Governance or other relevant humanities.• Understanding of both policy issues and programme practice on tax justice andprogressive taxation, particularly linking local, national regional and internationalevidence-based advocacy and campaigning.• Strong understanding of advocacy, media, and influencing processes, includingmethodologies and practical experience• Experience of providing leadership, support and guidance across developmentprogrammes/projects – particularly in multi-country settings.• The ability to work in multicultural setting, where your closest colleagues are spreadout in different locations of the world• Equal enthusiasm for working at national as well as lobal level• Full working knowledge of English.And it is great if you have• Adept skills in monitoring complex projects with a wide geographical scope requiringvirtual collaboration.• Strong networking/relationship-building skills to work well with and influence diversestakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.• Excellent skills in information/data analysis, including consolidation and analysis ofhighly diverse data, and report writing.• Proven ICT skills and use of database software.• Excellent problem-solving skills, resourcefulness to understand and synthesizediverging points of view and resolve conflicts without escalation.• Fluency in one of the following languages: French, Portuguese, Swahili or BengaliIt is a prerequisite that you understand the role as an advisor to support and build thecapacity of others through coaching, mentoring and bringing the area forward throughdeveloping and introducing good practices. In addition, you are to respect and genuinelyvalue others – even if they have a different background or approach from you. You mustdare to explore untraditional approaches and thinking, and hold a strategic and innovativemindset to your projects.We offer you• A 2-year contract with possibility of extension under the People4Changeprogramme funded by Danida through ActionAid Denmark.• A base in one of the following countries: Abuja, Accra, Dar es Salaam, Harare,Kampala, Lusaka, Maputo, Nairobi or Yangon – based on the preference of theAdvisor and ActionAid.• A comprehensive allowance package including relocation, housing and educationallowance for kids.
